In una lettera rilasciata per il magazine RollingStone.com, Ian ha scritto: MOTÖRHEAD were arguably one of the most important bands in the history of rock music. They were an amazingly hard-working band. They were out there touring every single year. There’s nobody else like that out there.

“It’s hard to think about a world without Lemmy. It’s been a constant in my life since 1980. It leaves a giant hole that will never be filled.

“Even with Lemmy and his lifestyle — and he was 70 years old — there was an air of invincibility about the guy. He truly was a modern-day pirate. As much of a bummer as it is, I’m celebrating his life and the fact that he really did go out on top. He finished a tour two weeks ago playing headline shows at venues in Europe that were some of the biggest shows MOTÖRHEAD had ever done.”

We just finished up in Florida, doing basically all the recording [at AudioHammer studios in Sanford with producer Jason Suecof]. Now we’re just kind of waiting for these Christmas shows to go by and then jump back in and start mixing. [We’ve got] a couple of overdubs to do at my studio, but, basically, it’s about done. We got as far as we could go in Florida; there’s a cutoff date. So we’ll use every second to a cutoff date that there is. If there was another month there, we would still be there doing stuff for our album. But the thing will be mixed and going into mastering by the second week of January.”

It’s the third time we’ve used him, and we couldn’t really be happier.”

“This time, all the music was written and lyrics were written with the exception of one song, which I purposely saved to write on the spot.

“Sometimes you can get a great vibe from a studio and draw inspiration from that. That song came out great.

“We’re looking at an April 2016 release date and songs include ‘Father Of Lies’ and ‘Lost’. I can’t tell you any others just yet, though.”

“It’s got the aggressiveness of the last two records, but our songwriting has improved dramatically. Really, it sounds like DEATH ANGEL should.”
